East Fork Lake State Park

No need to let a weekend work event cramp our camping style! East Fork is right outside the metro Cincinnati area and has more than 400 sites.

Though the calendar says October, the heat was peak of summer – nearly 90º. So we prioritized a shady site. Unfortunately, one of the few shady sites left, 136, was also very awkward. There wasn’t much sitting space around the parking pad – the fire ring and picnic table were both nearly on the road.

Frankly, we were much happier with the site we had in 2017. Site 83 was huge and one of our all-time favorites, but we got it during the week in November. I imagine it is one of the first reserved.

East Fork has nice bathrooms and showers. It is worth noting that bathrooms are available year-round in Loop C.

Our biggest East Fork complaint is the relative lack of dump stations. With over 400 sites, the majority of which are checking out around noon on Sunday, the line to dump was almost 90 minutes long! Yikes!

This weekend was also our first chance to play with our brand new GoPro. There is still a lot of room for improvement, but I am happy to share our first video was an East Fork Campground tour.
